The Maternity Experience

The studio is conveniently located in East Vancouver, close to both 1st Ave. and Grandview freeway exits.

Yes, our studio has a solid collection of basics such as bodysuits, tops, and blazers. We also have a beautiful collection of silk fabrics for draping, and a large collection of stunning accessories. Clients generally choose to both borrow a few pieces from the studio, as well as bring one or two special pieces from home. Our Wardrobe Stylist will let you know where you can purchase a variety of stunning maternity garments.

We recommend maternity photos be taken from 27-35 weeks of pregnancy, encouraging the earlier end of that spectrum to avoid water retention and mobility issues. We encourage you to book your session as soon as you find out you're expecting, to ensure we can fit you in during your optimal window. Last minute booking requests are always welcome, and we'll do our best to see how we can accommodate your request without compromising level of service we're known for. 

Clients generally bring anywhere from 3-5 outfits for a session. I like to encourage 4 solid outfits with an extra outfit we can warm you up in if you're feeling extra nervous. Keep in mind that your birthday suit is considered an outfit, as each change generally gets an entirely new background and lighting setup.

A great way to start brainstorming wardrobe for your session would be to start collecting some inspiration images in the look and style you'd like to see yourself in. When looking over your inspo images with our Wardrobe Stylist, she will often start to see patterns emerge in the clothing style and from there she can see what pieces you have, advise on what pieces we have in studio, or what we may want to borrow, buy or rent. Shopping and rental suggestions are also provided in the Style Guide as part of your Welcome Package. Your photo shoot is an opportunity for you to be whoever you want to be and dress however you want to dress. We will gently guide and suggest. Play is encouraged. For maternity sessions, we always recommend bringing a nude strapless bra and nude thong underwear.

Not at all. We tailor each photo shoot to the desires of our clients. Some clients love a variety of artistic nudes to showcase the natural form, while other prefer to be fully clothed and covered.

You don't have to worry about any of these things. Magazine-style, professional retouching is included in your session, and blemishes, stretch marks, bruises, etc. will all automatically be addressed, as well as any specific concerns you may have. We specialize in the most comprehensive and detailed editing and will enhance and transform every image into a stunning work of art.

Posing is not something that people know how to do, unless you're a professional model and have been studying the art of posing for some time. We expect you to know absolutely nothing. We get you looking and feeling fabulous and once on set we guide you every step of the way from head to toe. You just get to follow along and have fun. We want you to feel beautiful, comfortable, confident and pampered the whole time.

Hair and Makeup begins at 10am. Depending on the number of outfits and flow of the day, clients are generally leaving the studio anytime from 2-3pm. We highly recommend arranging for someone else to do school pick-ups, if necessary, and planning a date night, or girls' night out the evening of your shoot because you will be looking and feeling like a million bucks.

We accept all major credit cards, and cash. Pre-Payment plans are available to break up your payments, but final and full payment is due at the viewing and ordering session immediately following your session.
